This is how other Countries are Regulating to Stop Fake News on Social Media

September 27, 2019
The Supreme Court has became strict on
false news spreading on social media sites. The court has given 3 weeks time to the central government on Tuesday. In three weeks, the Central has to file an affidavit with a fixed timeline to create guidelines to curb the fake news spread through social media. The court's directive comes after recent incidents caused by online rumors and fake videos. Let us tell you that how other countries of the world are handling the fake news spreading on social media.

Malaysia is among the first countries to pass the anti-fake news law last year. Fake news spread in Malaysia can result in a fine of 500,000 Malaysian ringgit (Rs 85 lakh) or up to 6 years in prison.
In Singapore draft law proposes a jail term of up to 10 years for a person spreading online false news that harms public interest. At the same time, if social media sites fail to take action against such content, then they may have to pay up to 1 million Singapore dollars (about Rs 5 crore). The common person can also be asked to change and delete posts posted on social media. If that person does not follow the rules, he may have to pay a fine of 20,000 Singapore dollars (about 10 lakh rupees) and jailed for up to 12 months.

China has already blocked most social media sites and Internet services such as Twitter, Facebook, Google and WhatsApp.  In addition, there are thousands of cyber police personal in China, who monitor social media and screen content.

A law enacted in Russia in March 2019 punishes individuals and companies who spread false news and information disrespecting the state. Publications may have to pay a fine of up to 1.5 million rubles (Rs 16 lakh) for spreading false news. At the same time, 300,000 rubels (about Rs 3 lakh) may have to be fined for disrespecting the state cymbals and authorities.  At the same time, committing this crime for the second time can also result in 15 days jail.

France passed two anti-fake news laws in October last year following allegations related to Russia's interference in the 2017 presidential election. This law empowers the French Broadcasting Authority to off-air any network that spreads false news.
Australia passed a law earlier this year that if company failed to remove content related to terrorism, murder, rape or any other serious crime from social media, with a fine of up to 10% of the company's turnover and its executive may be jailed for 3 years. In Australia, common people may have to pay 1,68,000 Australian dollars (about 80 lakh rupees) and companies up to 4 crore rupees for non-compliance with the relevant law.

Germany NetzDG applies to companies that have more than 2 million registered users in the country. Under the law, companies have to review complaints related to fake news within 24 hours and remove objectionable content. If the rules are not complied with, the common people may have to pay a penalty of 5 million euros (about Rs 40 crore) and companies a penalty of 50 million euros (about Rs 400 crore).

Government to Introduce Digital ID Card in India, will replace Aadhaar, Driving Licence and Pan Card

September 27, 2019
Like every Indian, you too will have many cards including Birth Certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card (PAN), driving license (DL). An Indian roams around half a dozen cards in his pocket for his different needs. But, soon only one card will do all work. You will not need to keep separate documents. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has recently indicated that there is a plan to arrange a single card in the entire country.
Important documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Gas Connection, Ration Card are required to be kept by an Indian citizen. Not only this, there are also separate cards for the government scheme. In these, MNREGA Job card, Kisan Credit Card, BPL card are also required. Many work can get stuck without them.

The government's plan is to replace all these cards with one card. Let's understand this in easy language, then you get all the benefits from a single card. However, some guidelines will be set for this. However, only one card will need to be kept as an identity card. Even after that all other cards will be fully valid. There would be no need to keep a dozen cards. The idea is to bring all the cards on one platform through the National Population Register.
There is same system in foreign countries. However, an electronic database has to be prepared for this. At the moment, a hint has been received as to what kind of planning the government is doing. Only one card runs in 60 countries around the world for driving license, bank account, health card and identification. The specialty of this card is that it has an electronic chip, which is attached to the database. It provides all the information about the cardholder.
Like India, other countries are aslo adopting it. In this, China has started digital ID card for all citizens above the age of 16 last year. In this, everything is recorded in the person's date of birth, caste, gender, religion and identity number etc. At the same time, in Europe, in April this year, a new law was approved for an ID card. After this, there will be only one ID card in the whole of Europe. There are currently over 250 cards in use in Europe. The card will be implemented from April 2020. It will be connected with the finger print system. Apart from this, countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroon have also launched national ID cards.

According to the information given by Maruti Suzuki to the stock market, new prices have been implemented. This discount of the company is different from other festive season offers. This means that customers will get separate offers for the festive season of Maruti Suzuki.
It has been said on behalf of Maruti Suzuki that this decision was taken to extend the benefit of corporate tax reduction to the customers. This will make it easier for the entry level customers to buy the car. The company hopes that this will improve sentiments during the festive season and demand will pick up.

On Last Friday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had talked about exempting corporate tax on domestic companies.  He told that now these companies will be charged 22% income tax without any exemption. At same time, after adding surcharge and cess, the company will have to pay 25.17% tax. This will benefit the big companies of the country who fall in the 30% corporate tax slab.
This decision has been taken by Maruti Suzuki at a time when the company's sales are continuously declining. Due to this, production has to be cut as well. In these conditions, Maruti Suzuki also stopped the plants of Manesar and Gurugram on September 7 and 9. It is reported that in August, Maruti's car sales decreased by 32.7 percent to 1,06,413 vehicles. Whereas in the same month last year, the company had sales of 1,58,189 units. However, it has been reported by the company that sales have increased in September compared to August.

Government Launched Web Portal CEIR, to track your Lost or Stolen Phone

September 26, 2019

If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, the government will help you find it.  Communications minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday launched a web portal in Mumbai, which will help users locate their stolen or lost mobile phones. For this, the Department of Telecommunications has started a project named Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR). The project has been launched with the objective of blocking lost or stolen phones on all mobile networks, discouraging theft and detecting such phones.

All mobiles have a unique IMEI number for their identification. This number is reprogrammable (changes can be made), which causes the fraudster to reprogram it. This leads to cloning of IMEI and multiple phones are used on the same IMEI number. According to the Telecommunications Department, there are many cases of cloned/duplicate IMEI handsets till date.
If such IMEI numbers are blocked, then those whose mobile has been stolen, they will have to be troubled. Because of this there is a need to get rid of phones with duplicate and fake IMEI. The CEIR website project has been launched for this problem. Apart from this, it will also help in security, theft and other problems.

The main objectives of the CEIR project.

Block lost or stolen phones on all mobile networks to discourage mobile phone theft.

Lost or stolen mobile phone detection facility.

Preventing mobiles with duplicate and fake IMEI in the network.

To stop the use of stolen mobiles.

Reduce the health risks of users with control over the use of stolen mobiles.

Reduce the use of stolen mobiles, improve the quality of service and reduce call drop.
If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, then first of all FIR will have to be lodged with the police station. After that, call the helpline number 14422 and inform the telecommunications department. After verification, the department will blacklist the phone, so that your lost or stolen phone will not be used further. Apart from this, if someone tries to use the mobile by installing another sim, the service provider will identify the new user and inform the police. The facility is currently being launched as a pilot projector in Maharashtra.
